Proctor Silex Single Serve Plus Coffee Maker Reviews
Proctor Silex (49961) Single Serve Coffee Maker Customer Reviews
Proctor Silex Single-Serve Coffeemaker has a lot of pros and cons. On the pro side, it's small, compact and takes very lilliputian counter infinite. Information technology makes an 8 oz cup of coffee in about 3 minutes once you take the coffee and water loaded in the motorcar. It's versatile as it comes with it's own washable filter so you can use the regular footing java to brand a stiff cup of coffee. It can also arrange the K-Cups hands which then gives you a wide variety of beverages to choose from in addition to the regular loving cup of coffee. The cons are: it does not have a hot plate where your cup sits so if you lot are using a ceramic mug and go out it for a few minutes, the java gets cold. Really, that's the one down side to this petty car. Too, the water dispenser is very pocket-sized and has an opening in the back wall of the automobile which, if you endeavor to put besides much more water over the 8oz limit, it volition spill out onto the counter. The java is not pipe hot when information technology is brewed and if you add creamer to your coffee you lot will become a luke warm cup. If you don't mind a luke warm cup of your favorite beverage, and so this volition do for yous. However, I constitute that as long as I used a pocket-size stainless steel pitcher, the coffee stayed at the perfect temperature - non as well hot or cold. The pro to that is, if yous want a nice warm potable instantly, you will go it with this model. Also, you will save on coffee as you won't have to throw out as much of it if you are serving single cups in a 12 cup coffee maker. I swapped out my large java maker to use this model on a daily basis as the coffee is made rapidly without waste. However, I would prefer a small coffee maker with a hot plate to keep the coffee warm and turn up the temperature for the water to get a skilful hot cup of coffee. Otherwise, it is a stiff and very well fabricated machine.

I was pleasantly surprised how proficient the coffee came out from this coffee maker. Almost single serve or mini-pot makers are inefficient & waste coffee, and then y'all need a lot more than grounds to make information technology strong enough. That was not the case with this one. With but 2 heaping teaspoons of java grounds, it makes x-12 ounces of delicious hot strong java. Put less coffee in if you similar it weaker. Information technology was incredibly easy to use. From the fourth dimension I started united nations--boxing it to the time it was ready to make its commencement loving cup took around five minutes without reading whatever instructions. The very first cup came out perfect. Information technology took only a couple minutes to make the coffee. It comes with a fine mesh strainer coffee filter then you lot can brand coffee with regular coffee grounds (not fine footing), without having to worry about buying java filters or costly "pods" of coffee. Only a slight trace of a fine powder of grounds was found at the bottom of the loving cup. With occasional stirring it just adds to the flavor, & tin can be drank. The filter appears to be a fine nylon mesh rather than metallic, and so you don't have to worry about corrosion, or a reaction to cleaning chemicals & bleach. I choose simply to rinse the strainer with hot water, and then occasionally washing it with soapy water after several cups. Whatsoever permanent coffee permanent staining of the strainer mesh will be irrelevant, but vinegar or bleach should remove it if yous must. Hard, aggressive scrubbing volition probably ruin information technology. It leaks just a little scrap of coffee occasionally but I never caught where it came from, & follows no pattern. It seems to happen randomly no thing if I'm making 8 ounces or ten-12 ounces. So filling with 12 oz. of water or more grounds is not the cause. Information technology has leaked with merely eight ounces of water & only one heaping teaspoon of grounds in it. It doesn't happen oftentimes, & it's not much. I wouldn't have even noticed considering it would be a small puddle of coffee under the maker that I would discover later. It may have to practice with how cold the tap water is at first. It seems to happen with icy common cold winter tap water the most. My solution is to have it sit on a tray, which likewise caches whatever sprinkles of carbohydrate & creamer I may drib also. Although the maker is smaller than a full sized coffee maker, not by much. It'due south actually huge for a unmarried serve maker... larger than most 3-4 cup java makers. Still, existence a lilliputian narrower than makers you volition salvage a little counter space. Don't even retrieve well-nigh packing information technology in a suitcase for travel because it'south way too big. A single-serve maker is unremarkably not a kitchen counter apparatus, only more of an role or room device, which is a problem because of its incredibly short cord at but 23.25 inches long. It might only reach a counter tiptop outlet, only in an office or room where 1 would most likely apply this, the outlet will be as well far away without an extension, unless you lot make your coffee on the floor next to the outlet. My favorite 12 ounce alpine insulated cup (to continue it hot longer) is just 3/4 of an inch too tall to fit nether it. So I have to use a wider shorter cup for it. I just fill the aforementioned cup with a little more water than what I would demand (the grounds will absorb nearly three-5% of it), pour it in, put in the grounds, & push the button. It shuts off automatically when washed. At that place is no warming plate in the bottom, so you don't take to worry most a plastic or disposable cup melting. Yep, you can apply or re-utilise plastic or Styrofoam cups with it. The coffee will be hot, just not scalding hot. Some mention a strange or unusual racket while it makes coffee. To me, it sounds just similar almost coffee makers & not unusual at all. It's really quieter than most until it's almost washed, which is a handy alarm that it'southward virtually finished. I accept been using information technology for weeks at present in my home function & dear information technology. But I couldn't give it 5 stars because of the occasional small leak, & very short cord. This is an office or room device more a kitchen counter apparatus, so really requires a standard sized cord & no leaking.

I received my Proctor Silex single cup coffee maker a week ago and have been using information technology every day in my home office (I wanted to try it out for a bit earlier writing my review) information technology's great, and easy to use and makes a very tasty loving cup of java. I can't really say enough about this production it works perfect has motorcar shut off so no risk of accidents U can use any Thou-cups I've tried a few different brands and bonus it is inexpensive. I can honestly recommend this product information technology is perfect for when U don't want to make a whole pot of coffee.

There exists a plethora of java making appliances. You can spend hundreds of dollars on devices that do everything affair short of delivering your morning cup of joe to your bedside. This Proctor Silex Single-Serve brewing system falls at the opposite end of the spectrum. This unit is designed for the person looking for a single cup of coffee. Nothing fancy, just coffee. This machine accepts all varieties of K-Cup beverages (now including soups, hot cocoa and more). You can likewise use the supplied reusable filter basket to make standard basis coffee - still one cup at a time. I decided to have the coffee maker to the office. I can take it hang out at my desk and make coffee for myself the way I similar information technology instead of the strong enough to drink with a fork brew the rest of the coiffure likes. It is modest enough that I tin can toss it in a drawer when not in use. Every bit a result of seeing the unit in action, two co-workers have picked up their own Proctor Silex machines. There are a number of reviews out in that location that claim that all G-Cups are non compatible with this java maker. While I cannot say that we tried every unmarried brand 1000-Cup out on the market, but I recollect I tried a representative cross section of product. All of the cups I tried worked without issue. I take included a picture that compares the holes made by the Proctor Silex machine with those made past a famous manufacturer. You tin easily see the difference; the Proctor Silex unit of measurement creates a much larger hole. While the size of the hole seems to brand no divergence in the quality of the brew, the larger cutting surface of the knife in the Proctor Silex machine could potentially cut into the bagged coffee grounds in a One thousand-Loving cup pod. Nosotros experienced cypher issues in this expanse. The basket as well works well. A slightly coarser grind than usual works best with the handbasket. You tin also apply a section of a larger coffee filter to line the basket so you lot tin can use ultra fine grind European fashion coffee grounds. Pros: -Meaty -Uncomplicated to Operate -Can Brew upwards to a 12 oz cup of java -K-Cup Compatible -Coffee grounds / filter basket compatible -Inexpensive (typically under $30) Cons: -Not compatible with virtually thermal cups (or even alpine coffee cups/mugs) -No visible h2o level indicator -Only holds 12 ounces of h2o at a time -Very Short string (make sure you have a heavy duty extension cord if you use one) -Non terribly fast (instructions say 4 minutes per brew - real world times are around 3 minutes) Overall, the Proctor Silex Single Serve coffee maker is perfect for the unmarried java drinker. I would certainly recommend information technology for anyone looking for an in-expensive Grand-Cup based coffee maker.

This K-cup coffeemaker is the bare bones of coffeemakers with absolutely no extra bells or whistles! The only improver it has is a brew converter, and then that yous can brew cups with regular java grounds. You use the cup you lot are going to brew into as the water measuring tool. At that place is a minimum and maximum level indicator in the tiny reservoir at the back. Later on placing a K-cup (or ground filter) in the front of the machine you push a small-scale button on the front and wait. It takes 4 to six minutes to consummate the mash cycle and it makes odd, loud noises while brewing. The sounds are and then foreign and noisy that the first time my daughter used the machine she thought something was wrong, just they seem to exist just part of the regular function, so they're nothing to worry about. Information technology'southward that simple. That's it, that'due south all you demand to know, except you do also need to be aware that in one case the mash button is pushed there is no way to turn information technology off over again until it is washed. I'm non exactly sure why, but fifty-fifty unplugging it will not cease the process. You also need to know that if you lot use the mash basket selection there may exist tiny bits of grounds in the bottom of your loving cup. I tried to fix this by using a cupcake liner as a filter, only that was an utter failure as it was non porous enough to allow the coffee through. On the whole, I love this machine, simply because it is not complicated!

This machine does what it is supposed to do - mash Kcups. It does accept quite a few drawbacks though, in my opinion. First, and this is a general knock I have confronting nigh all of these machines, you can merely utilize a standard size coffee mug. No travel mugs, in fact, if your favorite mug is more than than 5 inches tall, forget it. That size will not fit and the lesser plate which is detachable on some models to accommodate taller mugs does not come up off. If yous are used to a Keurig type design where you throw the Kcup in and press the handle down and abroad you go, no on that count too. This car uses a caddy that you lot have to pull out and set on a hard surface similar a table, then you accept the Kcup and firmly press information technology into the caddy until it snaps in ALL THE WAY. If y'all don't snap it in all the mode you lot will air current up with a huge water/coffee/grounds mess everywhere (aye, that happened.) Next, you slide the caddy dorsum into the machine and printing the forepart of the caddy downward until it snaps in identify. Now you accept the Kcup positioned. This is a single serve machine with no water reservoir capacity. You pour h2o in to the corporeality you want upwardly to 10 ounces. There is one button to push for the Mash bicycle, and it take several minutes to brew that one cup. Later the brewing stops, the lighted Brew switch volition slowly fade until it is completely off. Now, the directions provide that when not in use the unit of measurement should be unplugged. Non certain why this is? There is no residual heating of whatever kind and no lights stay lit. Peradventure just a safety precaution. And, past the mode, the cord is actually short. To be fair, there are pluses here. The machine "steeps" the Kcup for ii minutes before total brewing starts. It does make a difference in how robust the coffee is. The other plus is that this automobile comes with a basket that you lot can apply to brew ground coffee. If that is something you want to bargain with, then perhaps this is a useful choice. For me, the cumbersome way that you accept to use to insert a Kcup and the ultra small-scale coffee mug size that you have to utilize are bargain breakers for me. I call up you can notice amend options for this price bespeak.

A single-serve coffeemaker that does pods and footing java means that this coffeemaker is also a tea maker, every bit I can get with a favorites tea, every bit well equally coffee pod. The reusable mesh filter handbasket that comes with the Proctor Silex Single-Serve Coffeemaker allows me the selection of saving on the loftier cost of pods (up to l or 60 cents each), while skipping other people's idea of a skilful coffee and using my ain custom grinds or favorite packaged coffees to max out a brewed coffee gustation. The pod holder slips easily out leaving space to insert a fine mesh reusable ground java holder. I filled nigh one-half mode with basis java and got a really skilful cup. The coffee maker allows a actually big cup nether the spout, but not 1 equally tall equally my 16 OZ thermal travel/take-my-time-drinking-hot-coffee cup. Dead elementary solution is to fill up the water storage area to the height (in case it drips out the overflow opening, I sit the unit on few folded paper towels) and slip a wider, larger chapters cup underneath. When the java is brewed, just pour information technology into the (preheated) thermal cup and I'k all set up for a good couple of hours with a big, very tasty loving cup of strong-every bit-I-like coffee. The pods are OK, but I tin make a stronger loving cup using the filter basket. I've always associated Proctor-Silex with quality and that seems to concur true with the Proctor Silex Single-Serve Coffeemaker. It works great and cleanup is quick and piece of cake. It'southward ideal for someone like me, living alone with a small-scale kitchen area and the daily thirst for one or two large cups of good, strong coffee fabricated to order in five minutes or less.

Proctor Silex Single-Serve Coffee Maker This single serve coffee maker not just uses K-Cups only it as well comes with a little basket so yous tin also use basic coffee grounds. I had no idea this came with the filter to use regular ground coffee so this was a nice bonus. This automobile is the perfect size and does not accept up a lot of room on your counter. It is a dainty looking niggling machine. It is easy to use, make full the water (just up to 10 oz) place your k-cup in the brew basket, printing down and button the brew button. I like to fact that you can choose to apply k-cup products or apply the brew handbasket and use whatever footing coffee. It is nice to take that flexibility in a coffee maker. The brewing time is near 4 minutes. In one case the brewing is complete the coffee maker will shut off automatically and the lite will go off. You should await at least 2 minutes before brewing another cup. When brewing is complete yous have the easy clean upwardly of removing the slide out brew handbasket and toss the k-loving cup abroad or grounds which ever you are using. It is recommended that the coffee maker is cleaned at least one time a month using white vinegar. The removable single-serve pack holder and mash handbasket are dishwasher-safe, however read your transmission for the advisable setting. This is a nice modest design and very like shooting fish in a barrel to use.

This coffee maker is compatible with ®Kcups. You can as well use your ain ground coffee or loose leaf tea in it. It comes with the pocket-sized basket with the piercer for the Kcups as well as a larger basket for making your favorite flavor with your ain grounds. It's a rather meaty machine, so information technology won't take up much room on your counter. It is very easy to utilize and the instructions are quite simple. Because it is a unmarried serve unit, it will only concur up to ten ounces of water at a time. Y'all simply use the mug/cup that you are going to drink it out of to put the exact amount of water into the reservoir, put the cup under the spout, put your Kcup or basis coffee in the basket and printing the brew button. The machine does the rest. In approximately two minutes it brews your drinkable. There should be no chance of overflow, etc., considering you take put in the verbal corporeality of water for your mug. It's bully for a personal coffee brewer. The only drawback that I could see to this car is if you wanted to fill a travel mug, which is usually bigger than 10 ounces, due to the fact that you have to allow the machine absurd for at least ii minutes earlier the next drinkable (or to end filling the travel mug) and the fact that yous tin can't cull the darkness or strength of your mash. Other than that, I really like this brewer. Personally, I don't beverage coffee, but the Kcups come up in hot chocolate and dissimilar flavors of tea. I also take loose leaf tea that I will be trying with this machine. Anyway, long story short, I would recommend this single serve coffee maker. Thumbs up!

First of all, this detail is smaller than I thought it would be. Secondly, information technology is very lightweight and the cord is super short. I imagine it's made to sit on a cabinet right adjacent to the outlet. I took this to work to utilise in my office; however, information technology didn't piece of work for me considering the cord was but as well short. When I finally used it I'chiliad not sure what happened. I had this on my desk and I used a k loving cup. You tin can use a yard cup or brew basis java. At any rate, my coffee brewed and of a sudden I had a cup of coffee but towards the end at that place were java grounds everywhere. I don't know what happened as I followed the directions simply I had coffee and grounds all over my desk and underneath the brewer. The brewing time is almost ii to iii minutes. It works; maybe information technology is just an operator error.
